Zdravko Mandić was born in 1935 in Strigova, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in the class of Professor Zoran Petrović, and at the same academy he received his Master’s degree in the class of Professor Milo Milutinović in 1965. He was a member of ULUS, the founder of the art colony “Ečka” and a long-term director of the Contemporary Gallery in Zrenjanin. He exhibited at more than 150 solo and over 550 collective exhibitions in the country and abroad. He received several prestigious awards for painting, the most significant of which are the Masaryk Prize in Prague, the Grand Prize at the Biennial of Yugoslav Watercolor in Karlovac, and the prize at the Thirteenth November Salon in Cetinje. In 2010, he celebrated 50 years of work. Zdravko Mandić died on August 16, 2012 in Novi Sad.
