After his successful youthful beginnings as a painter and his first solo exhibition in 1972, he turned to studying architecture, and then to professional work in architecture.
Milan Stojkov devoted himself more intensively to art and created an opus of paintings that was premiered in the White Palace in Belgrade, which was followed by exhibitions in the National Museum in Kruševac, the Embassy of Serbia in Budapest, the National Museum in Modra (Slovakia), the National Library in Bratislava, and in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in Belgrade. This opus represented a new approach to portrait painting of historical figures, whose characters are inextricably linked to their living space (endowments, palaces, cities or landscapes) in Milan Stojkov’s work.
