Branko Lale Stanković was born on February 10, 1915 in the village of Bresnica near Čačak. He finished painting and art pedagogy at the Art School in Belgrade, and his teachers were Beta Vukanović, Ljuba Ivanović and Dragi Stojanović. He then improved his skills at an academic course with Ivan Radović and Nikola Bešević, and studied sculpture with Simeon Roksandić.
He was a professor of fine arts in Požarevac, Knjaževac and Belgrade. He participated in several group exhibitions in all major cities of Yugoslavia, and he also organized more than 30 solo exhibitions.
He worked for some time as a professor, and then as secretary of ULUS for the affirmation of modern art in Yugoslavia. He exhibited at many collective exhibitions in almost all important centers in the country and the world. He is the winner of the ULUS award and the Plaque of the Belgrade City Assembly. in 1969.
Branko Lale Stanković died in Belgrade on August 24, 1989.
