Veljko Đurđević continued making sketches and studies of nature, figures, nudes, portraits, landscapes, occasionally using photography as a template. When he reached the necessary level of persuasiveness of the painted matter, he approached the realism of the great Russian painters ambitiously and with a lot of enthusiasm. In the works of Šiškin, Rjepin, Vereščagin and others, he found that artistic quality that he identified with the beauty of the picturesque landscapes of Serbia. He knew that the sky over the Russian taigas could not be the same as the sky over the Šumadija fields and mountains. That is why the motifs of Rajac, Mokra Gora, Rzav, Prokletije, Subobor meadows, etc. painted with the soul of a true lover of a young man who knows his roots, where he belongs and what it is his duty to leave behind as a painter.
Graduated in 2005 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, in the class of Professor Momcilo Antonovic, where he received a scholarship from the Academy as one of the best and most talented students.
He exhibited at several collective exhibitions in the country and abroad.
Among the most important: in the Miller Gallery in Cincinnati, the “Cvijeta Zuzorić” Pavilion, the Gornji Milanovac Museum and the “Monca” Cultural Center in Italy.
His paintings are in private collections in Serbia, England, the United States of America, France, Switzerland, Italy…
He is a member of the Association of Fine Artists “Esnaf” and immediately after graduation he was admitted to the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia.
Through persistent work, Đurđević reached the level of perfectionism that already puts him on an equal footing with local realists, whether they are of a magical, poetic, fantastical or hyperrealistic orientation.
